Amid intense heatwave, the IMD has predicted light rain in Chennai in first week of June.

The weather office said generally cloudy sky and light rain will continue in Chennai till June 3.

The MeT Office said cloud cover and precipitation are expected in Chennai in the first week of June.

In the meantime, the IMD has predicted light rain and thunderstorms for Delhi on Friday.

The IMD said there is a possibility of thunderstorms, dust storms and light rain in the afternoon in Delhi.

The IMD in Hyderabad said light to moderate rain or thunder showers are anticipated in all six zones.

The Met office has predicted light to moderate rain or thunder showers for Telangana on May 31.

Heavy rainfall is also expected in West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Sikkim.

Isolated rain is expected over Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur and Tripura.

The IMD said that Mumbai and its suburban areas will experience cloudy skies and light drizzle later on Friday.
