How Chennai Metro Looks After Completion Of Phase 2

The Phase 2 of the Chennai Metro Rail project has been completed for a total of 20 km in various parts of the city.
The Phase 2 of the Chennai Metro Rail project will connect at least 25 localities.
The construction of the Phase 2 of the Chennai Metro started three and a half years ago.
The Phase 2 of the Chennai Metro corridors’ upline and downline portions spans 10 km above ground and 10.77 km underground.
In total, three corridors are there in the 116.1 km Phase 2 with 118 stations, one of which is a 42.6 km subterranean segment connected by 45 stations.
The Tamil Nadu govt in July 2017 announced an extension of Phase II, involving a section from Lighthouse up to Poonamallee.
The second phase of Chennai Metro is estimated to cost Rs 63.25 billion of which Rs 47.1 billion.
