Varanasi City Weather Update News: Heavy Rains Lash City, More Showers Likely

Heavy rains lashed Varanasi city on as monsoon reached Uttar Pradesh.

Varanasi received heavy rains from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning.

The IMD said Varanasi and surrounding districts will witness more rains in the days to come.

Waterlogging and traffic jams were witnessed in Varanasi due to heavy rain in the city.

It should be noted that the monsoon reached Uttar Pradesh, six days ahead of its schedule.

The IMD said the weather conditions are favourable for further advancement of the monsoon to other parts of UP.

Light to moderate rain, thundershowers were reported at isolated places in eastern UP.

The weather department also predicted heavy rainfall for other states such as Uttarakhand, Odisha, Rajasthan and Bihar.
