Noida International Airport, which will be inaugurated soon, will serve the National Capital Region.

After inauguration, the Noida airport will be an alternative to Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.

The whole project of the Noida International Airport is estimated to cost around Rs 30,000 crore.

The Noida International Airport is planned to be India's and Asia's largest airport.

The proposal to build the Noida airport in Jewar was first made in 2001 by home minister Rajnath Singh.

The Noida airport will be the third airport in Delhi NCR after Indira Gandhi International Airport and Ghaziabad's Hindon airport.

Officials dealing with the airport said the first phase of the airport will cost Rs 4,588 crore.

The Noida airport is spread over a total of 5,000 hectares, of which 1,334 hectares have already been acquired.

After it is fully built, the Noida airport is likely to have six to eight runways, the most in India.

Interestingly, the Noida airport will be just 130 km away from Agra and about 72 km from Delhi.
