Bengaluru city is very likely to witness rains this week as monsoon has advanced in Karnataka.

Southwest Monsoon is set to progress further into several regions, including Karnataka, over next 2-3 days.

As per IMD, this year monsoon has advanced earlier than expected over parts of Karnataka.

The onset of monsoon over Karnataka is around June 5-6.

Rains thunderstorm lashed Bengaluru city on Sunday, leading to uprooting of trees and disruption in Namma Metro services.

Namma Metro services between MG Road and Indiranagar on Purple Line were disrupted.

IMD forecasted generally cloudy sky with moderate rain in Bengaluru in the next 48 hours.
