The Home Ministry on Monday asked states to conduct mock drills on May 7 amid rising tensions with Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack. It is important to note that the decision comes in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi holding a series of high-level meetings, including with top defence functionaries. Amid this, the students and parents are confused if schools will be open tomorrow or not? The students must note that as of now, there is no update on schools announcing holiday or conducting online classes. Any official order regarding the closure of schools has not been issued yet. However, to be on a safer side, the students are advised to be in touch with their respective school for latest update.
The government of Delhi on Tuesday issued an advisory to schools for conducting Civil Defence Awareness and Preparedness Programs in light of MHA directive.
According to the reports, Deputy commissioners of police (DCPs) in Delhi have started holding meetings with senior police officers to strengthen patrolling in the national capital.
“We have already increased day and night patrolling in the city. We have deployed paramilitary forces, along with police personnel, at Delhi’s borders with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Security has already been beefed up in the city. The DCPs are personally monitoring the arrangements in their districts. They are holding meetings with assistant commissioners of police (ACPs) and station house officers (SHOs),” a source told PTI.
