The Indian Premier League (IPL) is the biggest and most popular T20 league in the world. Currently, the 18th season of IPL is being played.
The record for the most wickets taken as a captain in IPL belongs to Shane Warne. He picked up a total of 57 wickets.
After having played for 18 years, he announced his retirement from international cricket in November 2008. Between 2012 and 2015, Kumble held positions as a chief mentor for the teams Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.

Former India batter was bought for Rs 16 crore by Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in the IPL 2015 auctions. West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran was also bought for Rs 16 crore by Lucknow Super Giants at the IPL 2023 auctions.
