From Twinkle Khanna to Bhagyashree, there have been several Bollywood actresses who quit industry after marriage. Another addition to this list is 90s actress Rambha, who decided to quit acting and marry a Canadian-based businessman Indrakumar Pathmanathan.
Born as Vijaylakshmi, Rambha quit her education when she was 15 and made her acting debut in the Malayalam film Sargam (1992) alongside Amrutha. The film was a superhit and she made her Telugu debut in the same year in Aa Okkati Adakku, where her character’s name was Rambha. She adopted this as her on-screen name for her further career.
In 90s, Rambha became one of the most beloved actresses and worked in several film industries including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Bhojpuri and English. She collaborated with renowned actors like Mammootty, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijayakanth, Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Venkatesh, and Mohanlal, among others.

Rambha quit acting after she got married to Canada-based Sri Lankan Tamil businessman Indran Pathmanathan on April 8, 2010. The couple is blessed with two daughters and one son. Despite claiming quite dominate roles in the industry, she decided to stay from the limelight and embraced her married life. Her last film appearance was with Malayalam film titled Filmstar, released in 2011.
With regards to her financial success, Rambha’s net worth is estimated to be around $3 million, considering all the moveable and immoveable assets in India and abroad. According to a report by News 18, she also owns a property worth Rs 2000 crore.
After moving back to India from Canada, Rambha resumed her career. She was seen as a judge on Zee Telugu’s dance show ABCD-Anybody Can Dance and Vijay TV’s Kings of Comedy Juniors.
