In 2017, India made it to the final of the Champions Trophy but finished as the runner-up once again. Shikhar Dhawan was the highest run-scorer for India with 338 runs, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar led the bowling attack with 7 wickets. Despite a valiant effort, India fell short in the final, finishing as the second-best team in the tournament.
