Mohit Sharma’s career took a u-turn with Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023 with 27 wickets. He picked 13 in the following year and is likely to stay. Mohit last played for India in 2015.

Piyush Chawla was Mumbai Indian’s second-highest wicket-taker in IPL 2024 with 13 scalps. Chawla last played for India in 2012 and might also get retained.

Five-time IPL-winning captain MS Dhoni last played for India in 2019 during the ODI World Cup in England. He is likely to be retained by Chennai Super Kings.

One of the bankable spinners Mayank Markande is likely to stay at Sunrisers Hyderabad for his ability to pick up wickets in middle overs. His only T20I for India came in 2019.

Vijay Shankar has been one of the vital members in Gujarat Titans middle order in the last three seasons along with his big-hitting ability. He last played for India in 2019.

The IPL Governing Council on Saturday stated that a capped Indian player will become uncapped, if he has not played any international games in the last five years or does not have a BCCI Central Contract.
