Shaik Rasheed st Ryan Rickelton b Mitchell Santner 19 20 1 0 95
7.6
Mitchell Santner to Shaik Rasheed, OUT! STUMPED! Classical left-arm spin bowling from Mitchell Santner. He drew the right hander forward, making Shaik Rasheed go for the inside-out shot. The pace is slowed down, which means, while Rasheed is already through his shot, the ball is yet to come. The ball dips, pitches and then turns past the bat as Shaik is stranded out of his crease. Good keeping by Ryan Rickelton as well, following the line and moving swiftly to his right, collecting the ball and whipping the bails off in a flash. The stumping is referred upstairs and the third umpire checks for the outside edge first. Not finding anything on UltraEdge, he checks the stumping with the foot way out of the crease. Rasheed departs for 19 (20) and we now have two new batters at the crease, with Chennai Super Kings slipping from 57/1 to 63/3, in the span of 8 balls.
Rachin Ravindra c Ryan Rickelton b Ashwani Kumar 5 9 0 0 55.56
3.1
Ashwani Kumar to Rachin Ravindra, OUT! EDGED, AND CAUGHT BEHIND! Wow, holding back Bumrah and giving the ball to Ashwani works big time for Mumbai and he just does not disappoint the skipper. That's the end of Rachin Ravindra. Kumar bowls it on the money, just around the off stump line, on that three-quarter of a length, and gets it to nip away. Rachin Ravindra with barely any footwork, tries to heave across the line of the ball, and swings hard at it. But ends up getting a thick outside edge and the keeper, Ryan Rickelton, does the rest by taking a regulation catch to his left.
Ayush Mhatre c Mitchell Santner b Deepak Chahar 32 15 4 2 213.33
6.5
Deepak Chahar to Ayush Mhatre, OUT! CAUGHT! The debutant's innings is done. It was a quickfire knock, no doubt, a fantastic 32 (15) but having already got 9 runs from the over, one feels he could have just reigned in his horses. Remember, this is the post-Powerplay period and the field can be spread. Chahar bangs it short, outside off, Ayush Mhatre goes for the pull but gets more height than distance. Mitchell Santner is stationed at long on and takes it calmly, albeit stuttering after catching. But he recovers well, to stay just inside the ropes and the 41-run stand is broken. Chennai Super Kings are now 57/2 after 6.5 overs. Mhatre gets a pat on the back from Suryakumar Yadav, who is his Mumbai teammate in the Ranji Trophy. Good to see.
Ravindra Jadeja not out 53 35 4 2 151.43
Shivam Dube c Will Jacks b Jasprit Bumrah 50 32 2 4 156.25
16.2
Jasprit Bumrah to Shivam Dube, OUT! CAUGHT! Bumrah makes up for his dropped catch of Dube. Fuller ball, on the pads, but it's again the slower one. Dube swings for the seas but gets more height than distance. When the parabolic curve is completed, it is probably a couple of metres short of the shortest boundary on that side, which is 67 metres. Simple catch for Will Jacks. Dube departs for 50 (32) and the 79-run stand is broken. Chennai Super Kings are 142/4 after 16.2 overs.
MS Dhoni (C) (W) c Tilak Varma b Jasprit Bumrah 4 6 0 0 66.67
18.4
Jasprit Bumrah to MS Dhoni, OUT! CAUGHT! A full toss gets the better of Dhoni! On the middle stump, MS Dhoni whips it powerfully but hits it straight to Tilak Varma at deep square leg! Just 4 (6) for Thala and from 142/3, Chennai Super Kings have slipped to 156/5, in the span of 15 balls.

Ravindra Jadeja to Ryan Rickelton, OUT! IN THE AIR AND GONE! A wicket at a godsend time for CSK, and it is Jadeja who provides that vital breakthrough! Jadeja bowls it on a flatter trajectory, around middle and leg, getting a bit of a turn into the batter. Ryan Rickelton gets low to slog behind deep square leg, but hits it flat and just not well enough to clear the fence. Ayush Mhatre, the debutant, times the leap well, just inside the circumference of the boundary and takes a fantastic overhead catch with a reverse cup.
