India–Pakistan War: Army officials have clarified that the news of suicide bombings, also called fidayeen attacks, at Pathankot or Rajouri is completely false. No such incidents have taken place in these areas, confirmed Army officials. Earlier, a bunch of reports surfaced online which claimed that a suicide attack happened on the 120 Brigade Kerry in Pathankot or Rajouri wherein a terrorist with explosives tied up to his body blew himself. On Thursday night (May 8, 2025), multiple explosions were heard in Jammu, Punjab, and Rajasthan.
The development came after a heinous attack was carried out by Pakistan through drones and missiles in these areas. Pakistan tried to target the Jammu airstrip, Srinagar and Jaisalmer airports, and the Pathankot airbase through missile and drone attacks, which were foiled by India.

Meanwhile, as per the information shared by the Ministry of Defence, no casualties have been reported during these attacks. A complete blackout was witnessed in different parts of Jammu, Kashmir, Punjab, Chandigarh and Rajasthan. Following the blackout, air sirens were also heard. People living in the areas were advised to stay put and remain inside their homes for safety.
The explosion comes just a day after Indian carried out strikes on nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
