BCCI will announce new schedule for IPL 2025 after one week. "The decision was taken by the IPL Governing Council after due consultation with all key stakeholders following the representations from most of the franchisees, who conveyed the concern and sentiments of their players, and also the views of the broadcaster, sponsors and fans ; while the BCCI reposes full faith in the strength and preparedness of our armed forces, the Board considered it prudent to act in the collective interest of all stakeholders," an IPL statement read.
BCCI have suspended IPL 2025 due to India-Pakistan border tension. Pakistan targetted various cities across India on Thursday night.
BCCI will take stock of situation with Government before announcing new schedule. "The BCCI has decided to suspend the IPL for a week with immediate effect. After a week, the situation will be analysed and the government and stakeholders' views will be asked, following which the new schedule will be announced," says BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla told PTI news agency.
With PSL 2025 getting over in 8 days, IPL 2025 can move to UAE for the remaining 16 matches of the season.
PBKS vs DC match was abandoned due to security reasons in Dharamsala on Thursday, according to Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association officials.
Crowd in Dharamsala was evacuated after 11 overs in first innings and both PBKS and DC players were immediately moved to the team hotels. Both teams are expected to travel to Delhi by a special train.
