New Delhi: Dense layer of fog shrouds parts of Delhi on Wednesday morning, significantly reducing visibility across the city. Reportedly, the increased cold wave has intensified the air pollution across Northern India. As a result of which, Indian Railways reported a total of 26 trains are experiencing delays. From the past few days, the rail operations have been significantly affected by the inclement weather conditions. The Indian Meterological Department forcasted dense fog conditions in Delhi for today with a recorded minimun temeprature of 8 degree Celsius and maximum at 19 degree Celsius.

Due to persisting heavy fog conditions, several trains across the country are experiencing delays. Here is the list of trains running late:

Many flight services also experienced delays at IGI Airport due to fog. Taking on X (formerly Twitter) Indigo Airlines posted, “Low visibility and fog over Delhi may lead to some delays. We’re keeping a close watch on the weather and doing our best to get you where you need to be, safely and smoothly.”

Meanwhile, the air quality of Delhi has witnessed a significant drop to the ‘very poor’ category with an Air quality Index (AQI) recorded at 344 at 7 am. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Lodhi garden recorded an AQI of 287 (IITM) and 291 (IMD), Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium at 368, Mandir Marg at 378, Mundka 372, and NSIT Dwarka 242. Najafgarh recorded 255, Narela at 377, Nehru Nagar at 394, and North Campus, DU recorded 382 (IMD). Okhla Phase-2 reported an AQI of 380, while Patparganj recorded 390, and Pusa at 355.
Meanwhile, RK Puram recorded an AQI of 373, Rohini at 399, Shadipur at 313, Sirifort at 360. Sonia Vihar at 315, Sri Aurobindo Marg 222, Vivek Vihar 414, and Wazirpur 408. According to the recorded data, Vivek Vihar recorded the highest AQI of 414, indicating severe pollution levels.
