New Delhi: Rohan Murthy is a prominent figure in the technology industry, carving out a distinct niche through his entrepreneurial ventures. Rohan is the son of Infosys founder Narayana Murthy and Rajya Sabha MP and author Sudha Murty. Shrinivas Kulkarni, a professor of astrophysics and planetary science at the California Institute of Technology, is his maternal uncle and is said to have been a major influence on Murty. Murty grew up with a passion for programming. He has an older sister, Akshata Murty, wife of former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
As Narayana Murthy’s son, Rohan inherited a stake in Infosys and reportedly held 6,08,12,892 shares, or 1.67 percent of Infosys, and received Rs 106.42 crore in dividend income. In 2014, Rohan co-founded Soroco, a digital transformation company specialising in AI-driven automation, where he currently serves as the CTO.
Although Soroco does not publicly disclose its revenue figures, estimates from the NelsonHall Vendor Evaluation & Assessment Tool (NEAT) projected the company’s top-line revenue for 2022 at $18 million (approximately Rs 150 crore). In contrast, as of February 13, 2025, Infosys holds a valuation of Rs 7,37,940 crore.
