Mohanlal, one of the Malayalam film industry’s biggest superstars, now owns Dhirubhai Ambani’s vintage Cadillac.

But did you know — there’s one vintage car that is not part of Mukesh Ambani’s amazing collection? This vintage car was once owned by Dhirubhai Ambani, the founder of Reliance and father of Mukesh Ambani. But surprisingly, it is neither in Mukesh Ambani’s nor Anil Ambani’s, Nina Kothari’s, or Deepti Salgaocar’s collection today. Interestingly, this prized vehicle has been acquired by a celebrated South Indian superstar.

Mohanlal, one of the Malayalam film industry’s biggest superstars, now owns Dhirubhai Ambani’s vintage Cadillac. The 1958 left-hand drive Cadillac sedan was initially bought by film producer K Balaji, Mohanlal’s father-in-law, and featured in several films he produced. Originally based in Chennai, the car was later relocated to Kochi by Mohanlal, who initiated its restoration. Initially maroon, the sedan was restored by Flamingo Garage in Kochi and subsequently repainted to maintain its quality.

Although it’s not clear when K. Balaji bought the luxury car from Dhirubhai Ambani, we do know one interesting detail — the car is registered with the number MAS 2100.
