A wedding in the state of Gujarat is going viral for its opulence much like the grand Ambani wedding.

A wedding like the Ambani’s is hard to forget. It is one of the grandest event that created a buzz at the international level. Richest people in the world like Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates to almost all of the mainstream celebrities, everyone was part of this extravaganza. According to several media reports the approx. estimation of the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant is about Rs 5000 crores! While it did leave an edible mark, but can we imagine another wedding or event that could match this level? While it is difficult to say in monetarily term, a recent wedding in Gujarat reminded netizens of the royal and opulence of the Ambani wedding.

When something surfaces the internet, netizens are quick to throw in opinions, draw in parallels. This wedding, held at a pristine temple that is almost a century old, caught the eye if the internet and one could not take off their eyes from the elegant and royal couple.

A Royal Wedding in Gujarat and it is Not the Ambanis

A couple, Debosmita and Sumeet, tied the knot at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Shikharbaddh Mandir of Sarangpur, Gujarat. This was built in 1916 making it almost 109-years-old. It is the second tallest temple in the state. With the white temple dome in the backdrop, the lovely couple got married in a traditional wedding where the bride for a ritualistic red lehenga while the groom complemented her in ivory sherwani.

The bride donned a red Jigar Mali lehenga with got patti border and intricate zardozi work. The lehenga skirt had motifs of elephant and floral vines. She carried two dupattas during the phera. At a closer look one can find Sanskrit mantras weaved over the dupatta border.

Completing her, she wore a mangtikka along with maatha patti, nath and simple jewellery. The simple red bindi was just the right touch to elevate the aura of the regal bride.

The details of Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s so Anant’s wedding were nuanced and intricate from decor to clothes to jewellery. This wedding in the same state too reigned in terms of the regal quotient!
