Pakistan Shivers as India set to take revenge for Pahalgam terror attack

New Delhi: The cowardly terror attack by Pakistan-backed terrorists on innocent Hindu tourists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam has sent a shockwave across the globe. India is now in no mood to spare the forces behind this act. According to the reports, the method of this retaliatory strike, its timing, and the targets remain at the discretion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has left it up to the Indian Armed Forces to decide. However, considering the past actions of the Modi government, certain outcomes seem to be already decided. In his initial response, Prime Minister Modi issued a stern warning that those responsible for the murder of 26 innocent people in Pahalgam, along with everyone involved in the terrorist conspiracy from top to bottom, would face a punishment beyond anyone’s imagination. From this, it can be inferred what the primary targets for our armed forces might be and what kinds of options they may explore to eliminate them.

Signs of a Terrifying Action!

India is all set to give a befitting reply to all those elements behind the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Prime Minister Modi is conducting a series of high-level meetings to discuss the future course of actions. On Tuesday, PM Modi held a meeting with the heads of the three armed forces, Chief of Defence Staff, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, granting them full freedom to take action in this matter. Experts are of the opinion that it is now just a matter of time before the action begins.

Especially from a political perspective, the visit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat to meet Prime Minister Modi at his residence is quite unexpected. This also signals that whatever action is taken, it will be extremely strong and in line with the message Prime Minister Modi has already given.

What will happen to the masterminds of terror?

The facts suggest that the attack in Pahalgam was carried out by Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), with Pakistan making every effort to protect its identity. It is likely that India’s primary target could be the masterminds of LeT sitting in Pakistan and their hideouts. This is because it is believed that the terrorists who terrorized Pahalgam were likely guided by the leaders of Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Training Camps and Launch Pads Will Be Destroyed!

India’s second target could be the terrorist training camps operating in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The third primary target could be the launch pads of terrorists operating across the Line of Control (LoC). Among the three potential primary targets mentioned above, the Indian Armed Forces have already conducted operations targeting the latter two.

What are the options for penetrating a target?

The operation to destroy the previous target would have to be conducted in a manner similar to how the United States eliminated al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, who was hiding in Pakistan. India could target such objectives by moving well inside the Line of Control (LoC), into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and even deep into Pakistan. As far as commando operations are concerned, these could be conducted to eliminate terrorist launch pads. Indian forces have previously been successful in surgical strikes of this nature. To eliminate terrorist hideouts or their masterminds deeper inside Pakistan or PoK, options such as long-range missiles or airstrikes could be considered.
