Keerthy Suresh

Keerthy Suresh is an Indian actress who works predominantly in the Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam film industry. Her first big-screen appearance was as a child artist in the 2000 movie Pilots, followed by Achaneyanenikkishtam in 2001 and Kuberan in 2002. Her debut lead role came in 2013 with Malayalam movie Geethaanjali.

Apart from movies, Keerthy also featured in two television serials as a child artist. In 2004 she featured in Santhana Gopalam, and in 2005 she featured in Krishna Kripa Sagaram. She has also won a number of awards for her movie roles.

2014 TO 2017:

In 2014, Keerthy starred in Malayalam comedy film Ring Master, which received a positive response from critics. The following year she starred in Malayalam movie Darboni and also made her Tamil debut with the movie Idhu Enna Maayam. She then made her Telugu debut in 2016 with the movie Nenu Sailaja, and in the same year starred in Tamil movies Rajinimurugan, Thodari, and Remo. In 2017, she starred in Tamil movies Bairavaa and Paambhu Sattai, and in Telugu movie Nenu Local.

2018 TO 2020:

In 2018, Keerthy starred in 8 movies, namely, Agnyaathavaasi (Telugu), Thaanaa Serndha Koottam (Tamil), Mahanati (Telugu), Nadigaiyar Thilagam (Tamil), Seema Raja (Tamil-Cameo), Saamy Square (Tamil), Sandakozhi 2 (Tamil), and Sarkar (Tamil). In 2019, she made a cameo appearance in the Telugu movie Manmadhudu 2. In 2020, she has 6 films lined up, namely, Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham (Malayalam), Maidaan (Hindi Debut), Miss India (Telugu), Penguin (Tamil), Good Luck Sakhi (Telugu), and Rang De (Telugu).

Keerthy also made her singing debut in 2018 with the song Pudhu Metro Rail from the Tamil movie Saamy Square.

AWARDS:

In 2014, Keerthy won the 3rd South Indian International Movie Award for Best Debutant Actress - Malayalam, and the Asianet Film Award for Best New Face of the Year for her role in the movie Geethaanjali. In 2015, she won the Edison Award for Best Female Rising Star, and in 2016 the 5th South Indian International Movie Award for Best Debutant Actress - Tamil for her role in Idhu Enna Maayam. Then in 2017 she won the Zee Cinema Award for Best Debutant Actress for her role in movie Nenu Sailaja.

Keerthy won the Special Jury Award at the Norway Tamil Film Festival Awards in 2019 for her role in the movie Nadigaiyar Thilagam. The same year she won the National Film Award for Best Actress at the National Film Awards, the Best Actress award at the Zee Cine Awards (Telugu), and the Siima for Best Actress – Telugu award at the SIIMA Awards for her role in the movie Mahanati.

PERSONAL LIFE:

Keerthy Suresh was born on October 17, 1992 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu to Malayalam film producer and director Suresh Kumar and Tamil actress Menaka, and she has one sister. She studied in Chennai, Tamil Nadu till Class IV and then Kendriya Vidyalaya in Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram before coming back to Chennai to join the Pearl Academy, where she completed her degree in fashion design. She also was on an exchange program in Scotland for four months, and then completed a two-month internship in London.
