Aamir Khan tied the knot with Reena Dutta in 1962, even before he made his Bollywood debut with Qayamat se Qayamat Tak. However, the couple got separated in year 2002, after 16 years of marriage and had two children by that time- Junaid and Ira Khan. Aamir later married Kiran Rao in 2005, with whom he has a son, Azad.

Aamir’s son Junaid Khan who made his debut last year with Maharaj opened up about his parent’s divorce and if at all it affected his equation with them while growing up. When asked if his relationship with his parents changed after their separation, the actor told india.com, “No not really! Two good people aren’t always good together. And I don’t think there splitting up really made a difference regarding how they brought us up. I m glad I have two happy parents as supposed to two parents who were together and trying to make their marriage work. I think it’s probably a good thing in that sense for us.”

Junaid further revealed that his parents never made him or his sister Ira feel that “they didn’t get along.” He said, “Even, while raising up, I never saw them fight. You know, as kids we sometimes try that if maa not agreeing to something, let’s go and convince dad, but Khabar already paunch jati thi. So, even after separation, they never made us feel anything different.” Over the years, Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta have remained friends and share a great bond with each other. Their equation was quite evident when their daughter Ira got married last year.

Coming to Junaid, the actor will be next seen sharing the screen with Sridevi’s daughter Khushi Kapoor in Loveyapa, which is slated to be released in theatres on February 7. Directed by Advait Chandan, the romantic comedy also stars Ashutosh Rana, Kiku Sharda, Grusha Kapoor in key roles. Besides this, Junaid also has a film with Sai Pallavi later this year.
