Ramadan 2025: The holy month of Ramadan began from Sunday, March 2, after the Jama Masjid, and Lucknow’s Shahi Imam’s announcement. In Saudi Arabia, the first Roza was observed on Saturday, March 1, after the moon was sighted on Friday. Ramadan marks the beginning of ninth month of the Islamic calendar and the start of 29 to 30 day period of fasting between dawn and sunset.

Ramadan lasts for 30 days and will conclude on March 31 this year. However, Eid is determined by the sighting of the next crescent moon. If the moon is spotted on March 30, Eid will be celebrated on March 31. Muslims across the globe fast during Ramadan, as it is believed to be a private act of worship, bringing one closer to God. It also acts as a form of spiritual discipline.

The holy month of Ramadan began in Qatar on Saturday, March 1. The streets were filled with a festive spirit as Muslims prepared for Roza.

It is important to note that during the month of Ramadan, Muslims offer five daily prayers in mosques along with the special Taraweeh prayers. However, there is one country where Muslims reside, but they have no mosque to pray in. This country is Bhutan, a neighboring nation of India. It has a population of about 750,000, among whom approximately 7,000 are Muslims.
