According to the BBC, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the nation following the Indian strikes, stating that India made a “grave mistake” by targeting Pakistani territory and that “they will have to pay for it.” Sharif said India may have assumed Pakistan would back down, but “forgot that this is…a nation who knows to fight for their country”. Referring to Pakistan’s claim of downing Indian jets — a claim not confirmed by New Delhi — he said the air force’s response served as “our reply to them.”
Sharif continued his address by distancing Pakistan from last month’s deadly attack in Pahalgam, saying it “wasn’t related” to Pakistan and that the country was “wrongly accused.”

Top commanders of Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba have reportedly been eliminated in Indian airstrikes carried out across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
