Notwithstanding the outlandish claims often made by flat-earthers and other conspiracy theorists, our planet, the Earth, is undoubtedly round with no specific “end”, which would be the case if the earth was indeed flat like laid out like a soccer field. This fact has been proven beyond doubt by science, however, the Earth does technically have an “end”, and there is a road beyond which there is no land!

Its common knowledge that the Earth has two poles, the South Pole and the North Pole, and the latter is home to arctic regions which are coldest places on the planet due to which there is no civilization in these parts. Norway, one of the closest regions to the North Pole, is often called the “last country on earth”, but the tag is a misnomer because our planet is a sphere, which has no beginning or end point.

According to reports, there are several places on the E-69 highway where walking and driving alone is strictly prohibited and a punishable offence.

The Land of the Midnight Sun

Norway is one of the northernmost countries on the planet, located very close to the North Pole, due to which the country witnesses some very unique natural phenomenon, apart from its chilling cold weather. The day-night cycle in Norway depends on the season and location, with summers featuring long days, during which the sun can be visible all night in northern parts of the country.

In winter, northern Norway experiences the polar night, when the sun is below the horizon for weeks. The sun doesn’t set in northern Norway, and can be seen crossing the sky all night, a natural phenomenon known as the “Polar Day”, “White Night”, or “Nightless Night”.
