Lost hearing at 16, cracked UPSC in 1st attempt with AIR 9 after 4 months of preparation
At the age of 16, Saumya Sharma lost her hearing ability.
Always a bright student, Saumya secured a spot at National Law School after completing her education.
In 2017, Sharma decided to prepare for the UPSC exam, with only four months remaining.
She cracked UPSC in her first attempt at the age of 23, without any special coaching.
Saumya didn’t apply for any disability quota and took the exam under the general category.
During the Mains Exam, she had a severe fever and was unable to move from her bed.
Despite this, she showed up for the UPSC exam and cleared it.
She didn’t join any coaching and mainly relied on online study materials.
