Hyderabad: As heavy rains continue to batter parts of Hyderabad city, the Cyberabad Police have issued an advisory for all IT and ITES companies in the city, requesting them to allow work from home for their employees on Monday. The main aim is to reduce traffic congestion on roads and ensuring smooth operations for emergency services. Joel Davis, Cyberabad’s Joint Police Commissioner for Traffic, brought to the limelight the immense importance of prioritizing employee safety and welfare, especially during challenging weather conditions. By encouraging options for working remotely, they aim to reduce the risk associated with commuting and reduce traffic congestion, which in turn ensures that emergency services can run smoothly without hurdles.

“In view of continuous rainfall and the red alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), I request all IT & ITES companies to encourage work from home on 02.09.2024 (Monday),” Davis tweeted on X.
“The safety and well-being of employees are of utmost importance, and I believe that allowing them to work from home would minimise the risks associated with commuting during this weather. Additionally, this measure would also help reduce traffic congestion and ensure that emergency services are not hindered,” he added.
The advisory from the police is a thoughtful measure implemented to forestall any potential turmoil likely caused by severe rainfall, ensuring the city’s workforce can carry on in peace and safety.
