Hyderabad: In a horrifying incident, a man in Hyderabad reportedly killed his 35-year-old wife and attempted to conceal the crime by dismembering her body and boiling the remains in a pressure cooker. The incident came to light when Madhavi’s parents lodged her missing complaint in the Meerpet police station on January 16. The accused has been identified as Guru Murthy, a 45-year-old man who is an ex-army man. He reportedly informed Madhavi’s parents that she left their home following a heated argument between them and has visited her relative’s house. When the police questioned Guru, he allegedly admitted to murdering his wife on January 15 after a heated argument between them.
As per TOI reports, Guru chopped Madhavi’s body in the bathroom and boiled the body parts in a pressure cooker. He then separated the bones, ground them using a pestle, and boiled them again. After multiple rounds of boiling the flesh and bones for three consecutive days, he packed and dumped them into Meerpet Lake. Authorities have deployed teams and dog squads to search for the victim’s remains in Meerpet Lake.
The accused, Guru Murthy, is a former soldier and is currently working as a security guard in the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The couple has two children—a boy and a girl. Reportedly, the couple had frequent fights. However, it is not yet clear why the alleged murder took place. The police reported that the children were in the Gurumurthy’s sister’s house when the incident took place.
Police confirmed that the further investigation is underway. The case will be reclassified as murder after sufficient evidence is gathered.
